Day 1: Arrival in Colombo and transfer to Negombo

• Arrival: Bandaranaike International Airport, Colombo (CMB).
• Transfer: Short drive to Negombo (20 minutes | 15 km).

Day 2: Colombo City Tour & Negombo

• Morning:
  • Take a half-day Colombo City Tour: Visit Gangaramaya Temple, Galle Face Green, and Independence Square.
  • Explore local markets such as Pettah Market.
• Afternoon: Return to Negombo and enjoy a boat ride on the Negombo Lagoon or relax at the beach.

Day 3: Negombo to Sigiriya

• Morning: Drive to Sigiriya (Approx. 4.5 hours | 160 km).
• Afternoon:
  • Visit the Dambulla Cave Temple (en route).

Day 4: Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa

• Morning:
  • Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
• Afternoon:
  • Visit Polonnaruwa, the ancient capital of Sri Lanka (Approx. 1.5 hours | 50 km one way). Explore its ruins, including the Gal Vihara and Royal Palace.
• Evening: Return to Sigiriya.

Day 5: Sigiriya to Nuwara Eliya

• Morning: Drive from Sigiriya to Nuwara Eliya (Approx. 5.5 hours | 200 km).

  • Visit a tea plantation and factory in Nuwara Eliya.
  • Bahurawakanda Buddha statue
  • Enjoy a walk around Lake Gregory or explore the town’s colonial charm.

Day 6: Scenic Train Ride to Ella

• Morning: Take the scenic train ride from Nanu Oya (near Nuwara Eliya) to Ella (Approx. 3-4 hours).

  • Take a short hike to Little Adam’s Peak for stunning views.

Day 7: Explore Ella

Day 9: Whale Watching and Beach Time

• Morning: Go whale watching (seasonal from November to April), starting early at around 6:00 am.
