Description Overview

MURSHIDABAD, the last capital city of independent Bengal is situated
on the banks of the Bhagirathi and is known for its rich culture and
heritage.
The region has witnessed some of the most significant events of
Indian history including the erstwhile Nawabs of Bengal to the Battle
of Plassey. The wealth, opportunities and significance of the region in
the 1700s attracted the wealthiest merchants from across India to
migrate to Murshidabad. This led to
having contributed over 5% of the GDP of the World in the late 1700s

SHANTINIKETAN is a neighbourhood of Bolpur town in the Bolpur
subdivision of Birbhum district in West Bengal, India, approximately 152
km north of Kolkata. It was established by Maharshi Devendranath
Tagore, and later expanded by his son, Rabindranath Tagore whose
vision became what is now a university town with the creation of Visva-
Bharati.

BISHNUPUR is a city and a municipality of Bankura district in the
state of West Bengal, India. It is known for its terracotta temples
built by the Malla rulers, historic Radha Krishna temples built
during 1600–1800 CE and the Baluchari sarees.

Day 01 Kolkata

Arrive Kolkata. Transfer to hotel in private transport. Check-in at hotel. Free time & Lunch. Post lunch leave for a visit to the potter’s block of Kumartuli where the potters are busy giving finishing touch to their icon of Maa Durga or other idols(depending on the season) and the Malakar community complementing the potters work with
their skill in making jewelry and dress for the deity, followed by Heritage walk through the streets of North Kolkata.
Return to hotel
Dinner. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 02 – Kolkata – Azimgunj (Murshidabad)

Duration : 6 hrs.

07:00 Early breakfast. Check out of hotel.
08:00 Departure by Private car for Azimgunj
14:00: Arrive & check in Bari Kothi .
Lunch at Bari Kothi.
1600 :Orientation of Bari Kothi with its history.
18:30 High tea
19:30 Story telling tour of Bari Kothi
20:30 Dinner at Bari Kothi. Overnight stay at Bari
Kothi.

Day 3 – Azimgunj (Murshidabad)

08:00 Heritage walk ( Jain Temple , Old terracotta temple
and Old Palace )
09:00 Breakfast
10:00 Visit to Hazarduari Palace, Immambara , Katra
Mosque , Wasif manzil & Weavers Village ( Tanti Para )
14:30 Lunch at Bari Kothi
15:45 Tea on Ganges
19:00 Cultural program and high tea
21:00 Dinner

Day 4Azimgunj (Murshidabad)

10:00 A tour of Katna ” Shabnam Ramaswami /Murshidabad weavers /Sola Pith/Kansa & crafts.
15:00 Late lunch at Bari Kothi
18:30 High Tea
20:30 Dinner at Bari Kothi

Day 5 –  Azimgunj (Murshidabad) – Shantiniketan

Duration : 3.5 hrs.

08:00 Breakfast by the Ganges.
09:00 Depart for Shantiniketan.
12:30 Arrive Shantiniketan & Check-in at Udichi Regency
13:00 Lunch at Udichi Regency
15:00 Evening visit to Khoai Hat. The weekly market officially known as “Khoai Boner Annya Haat” is a platform for local artisans and small goods traders to showcase their works. Optionally, a visit to Amar Kutir. Amar Kutir is committed to encouraging craftsperson’s in the local area upgrade their skill by organizing training program.It is an institution of education and research in visual arts, founded in 1919, by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore.
20:00 Dinner Overnight stay at Udichi Regency.

Day 6 – Shantiniketan

08:00 Breakfast
09:30 Departure for temple tour featuring terracotta art.
13:30 Lunch at Borishaler Ranna Ghor with a traditional Bengali thali.
14:30 Visit to the village of Sian to witness a natural dye studio in action. Alternative possibilities include visiting a ceramic studio or
other textile workshops.
20:00 Dinner Overnight stay at Udichi Regency

Day 7– Shantiniketan – Bishnupur

Duration : 3.5 hrs.

08:00 Breakfast and check out .
09:30 Depart for Bishnupur.
13:00 Arrive and check-in at Hotel Annapurna.
13:30 Lunch.
15:00 Visit the weaver colony.
16:00 Evening visit to Lord Krishna temple & Arati.
20:00 Dinner.
Overnight stay at Hotel Annapurna

Day 8– Bishnupur – Kolkata

Duration : 4.5 hrs.

07:30 Breakfast & check out from Hotel Annapurna.
08:30 Depart for Kolkata visiting the terracotta temples and the place of making Dashabataar tash’.
13:00 Lunch & proceed for Kolkata.
19:00 Arrive Kolkata & check in to Fairlawn Hotel

Day 9– Kolkata

08:00 Breakfast
09:00 Go on a Heritage walk ( duration: 2 hrs. 30 mts) visiting St John’s church, Raj Bhawan, G P O , Writers building , Wilsons hotel ( David Wilson (1808–1880) worked as a confectioner in Calcutta and on 18 November 1840 he opened the Auckland Hotel in Calcutta. The hotel was also known as Wilson’s Hotel and changed its name to the Great Eastern Hotel.) & Currenc House. (this walk is optional).
13:00 Lunch.
14:30 After lunch visit Jorasanko Thakur Bari. (House of Rabindranath Tagore) . Free time forshopping or just leisure.
20:00 Dinner. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 10 – Kolkata

After breakfast checkout

End of tour.
